Why is the coat unlined?

Double-faced cloth is two woven layers bonded together, so it is already finished on both sides. Leaving it unlined keeps the coat light and lets it drape from the shoulder rather than hold a fixed shape.

Can I wear a jacket underneath?

Yes — it is cut with room through the chest and armhole specifically to go over tailoring. Take your usual size.

An unstructured overcoat in Italian double-faced wool, built without lining so the cloth falls naturally from the shoulder. Deep patch pockets, a single-button closure, and a length that clears the knee.

The double-faced construction means both sides are finished — there is no raw edge anywhere on the garment.
